Facial Fillers
As people age, they will lose volume in their faces, from loss of fat deposits, resorption of bone and changes in the skin and deeper tissues.
Dr Lyon’s facial surgery expertise allows him to help discuss and interpret with you the areas of your face that have changed in a negative way in your mirror. He is then able to effectively structure a plan to naturally return your facial volume to a level you are happier with, this may be relatively quick or may involve a more extended period utilising different types of dermal fillers in specific ways to enhance your face.
Every face is different, and this is where the surgical prowess he has allows him to work with you.

What areas can dermal fillers be used for?
Cheeks may be injected to make a face more defined and attractive. An underdeveloped chin may be injected to make it appear more projected and proportionate. The nose may be injected to improve the shape and its contour.
What does the procedure entail and is it painful?
Basic dermal filler procedures can require no anaesthetic as the dermal filler contains local anaesthetic or the use of topical numbing creams or nerve blocks. It is simple and straight-forward, involving a few tiny injections directly into the skin, and takes between 15–30 minutes. Make-up can be applied immediately after the procedure and you can go straight back to work. Result can be seen immediately. Optimal results can be maintained over a long period of time through regular repeated treatments.
How soon will I see any result and how long does it last?
Results are seen instantly after the treatment, although this gradually improves over the course of the following 2–4 weeks. Results can last between 9–18 months although optimal results can be maintained over a long period of time through regular repeated treatments.
Are dermal fillers safe?
Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a substance which occurs naturally in the body but there are many issues that can occur as with any medical procedure. Some of these are outlined above.
Important note: Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding, you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner.
